Light Balls There once
were three little balls of light floating through deep space. They just left Star Base Alpha and didn't really know
where they were going. But they heard a voice whisper, "You are eternal beings of light. Everything is going
to be all right."
They raced along through galaxy after galaxy dodging comets and sweeping by black
holes. Each time hearing the words, "You are eternal beings of light. Everything is going to be all
right."
After nearly colliding with three other balls of light laughing their way back to Star Base
Alpha, these new three balls of light came to a blue green planet called Earth. They dove down through Earth's atmosphere
scared of what this strange world would be like. Their speed picked up each second as they descended to the surface.
They saw three flowers standing on the ground waiting for their arrival.
"Strange specimens, but
beautiful," the light balls thought of the flowers. Again they worried, "What will become of us in these
flowers?" And again the voice whispered, "You are eternal beings of light. Everything is going to be
all right."
The three balls of light each were absorbed into their intended flower. The flowers
transformed the balls of light into energy to grow and the light balls didn't know what they were anymore.
But then something magical happened.
The little balls of light that had dissolved inside the flowers were
transfrormed into energy form after energy form until they reformed again as little balls of light that the flowers were about
to shine forth and shoot back out into the universe. They each sat on the edge of a flower petal looking up at
the stars in the night sky.
The light balls fell asleep to dream of their next journey across galaxy
after galaxy. But a funny thing happened, when they woke up they all looked into a giant mirror to see that they
were humans now. And again they heard a voice whisper to them, "You are eternal beings of light. Everything
is going to be all right."
Dreams, Beans, and Me
Dreams always seem like they can't be seen In
worlds that don't have magic beans But magic beans and magic seeds That first grow into little weeds Can grow up to be towering trees Extending far beyond Giants' knees Sending the dreamer to anywhere They could ever want or wish to care And all it took were two eyes To notice the beauty that
lies In something so tiny as a lean little bean, or a seed or a weed or something that could be as tiny
as little old me.
The Bee Who Couldn't See
Along came a bee Who could not see A leaf, a flower, or even a tree But the bee could fly And
the bee could dive The bee could try And the bee survived The bee could smell And the bee could feel So the bee did well And had good meals The bee found nectar And the bee made honey The honey tasted
better Than sweet chocolate money Others pointed and screamed I can't believe it! How can this
be? We won't have it! This is all wrong! An unseeing bee? She won't last long She soon won't
be But the bee didn't listen To the doubts in their minds She flew and she glistened Flying far, flying
wide Sucking nectar, making honey Spreading pollen of flowers Filling the world that we see With colors
of her power Being all she could be The bee who couldn't see
Two Red Buttons There once was a jolly old man who carried a big red bag and
flew a big red sleigh. One night he lost two red buttons off of his big red coat.
There once
was a red brick house which had a big green treee which stood above a room full of presents which covered the floor.
And there once were two little children who woke up one morning to run and see what fun waited for them underneath
that big green tree. They saw a mountain of toys. There was a tricycle,
a doll house, a glitter wand, a rocket ship, a football, a toolbox, a tiny toy kitchen, some paints, some colors, even candy
and chocolate. And there was more, so much more. The little boy and
the little girl moved from present to present digging and digging until they found something most special. Beneath all
the bows and the boxes, there were two small round little objects shaped like circles with black ash on top and
red coloring beneath and even a cookie crumb in the middle. The children looked at each other and smiled forgetting
about the mountain of toys and trinkets, for behold they found a treasure. They
jumped and they giggled. The little boy ran around shouting, "It's a spaceship, it's a wormhole, it's
a comet, it's a planet, it's a whirlpool." The little girl jumped around saying, "And it's a car,
it's the sun, it's a bubble bath, it's a telescope, it's alive." Then they touched the two buttons
together and sparks flew into the air and circled the tree and off the children went.
They flew through the air on a double propellered plane that took them to a launching pad where they boarded a rocket
headed towards two stars. But before they could get to the stars they landed on the moon where they collected two moon
rocks which somehow turned into bubbles.
They jumped inside these two red bubbles and floated back to Earth
and into a cave where they found two red rubies. But one of the rubies cut the little boy's skin so they decided
to hitch a ride on two red blood cells to get a tour of the human body. And when they were sneezed out of two long nostrils
they had to wash off in the bubble bath of the two red bathtubs.
But when they pulled the drain to let out
the water, it was the floor in the room in front of the big green tree that opened up into a giant whirlpool. All of
the toys had begun to circle madly around the room faster and faster. They were all about to get sucked down the whirlpool
and out of sight when the children came up with a plan. They closed up the widening hole in the floor with the two red
buttons.
After buttoning up the floor, the children just laughed and said, "Wow, that was close."
They rushed to tell everyone what magic they had found and what places they had been. But Mom and Dad just said, "That's
nice." Grandma and Grandpa, said "Stop digging in the trash." And even thier friends said, "Are
you crazy?"
But the little boy and the little girl didn't mind. They were happy to return
to a magical world where they were only limited by the magic of the two red buttons.
The Man Who Could Turn Anything Into Something There once was a man who could turn anything into something.
Imagine that! He could turn a blade of grass into a shining sword. He turned a pebble into a bowling ball.
He even once turned a sheet of paper into an enormous house.
People from all over the world would come to
him carrying little anythings. They all hoped this magic man could turn their anythings into somethings. People
brought threads, strands of hair, plastic cups, pens, even balls of dust. The man always, always was able to turn these
little anythings into somethings. The thread into a tugboat rope, the strand of hair into a winter coat, the plastic
cup into a boat, the pen into a swiss army knife, and even the little ball of dust was turned into a small pet hamster. Amazing!
Then one day, a little girl walked miles and miles carrying nothing but herself. She asked the man, “Mister.
I have heard that you can turn anything into something.” "Yes I can,” the man replied.
“But can you turn anybody into somebody?” “Hmmm,” the man smiled. “You
think that would be something?” “Yes,” the little girl said, “I am just an anybody, but
I want to be a somebody.” “This is going to be interesting indeed,” the man said.
The man sent the girl away and told her to come back tomorrow. “I am going to have to think about this
one,” he told her. So the next day, the girl came back still wanting to be somebody. The man told her, “I’m
not finished. I think you should come back tomorrow.” The girl did this everyday, and everyday the man told
her to come back the next day until one day he told her, “Here, I think I have it!” The man gave
the little girl a mirror 6 feet tall and 2 feet wide. “Look into this mirror everyday and think of me. I
promise you, you will be somebody.”
So the girl took the mirror home and everyday she looked into
it and thought of the old man and how he could turn anything into something hoping she would change from anybody into somebody.
Years and years went by. She didn’t notice any changes but she believed that something would happen.
More years and years went by and the little girl was now a grown woman. She was beautiful and smart. She had the
most wonderful job and she had even been around the world. And one day she looked at herself in the mirror and said,
“Wow, I really am somebody.” So she went to find the old man to thank him for the magic mirror he had given
her.
She finally found the now very old man and told him, “Oh thank you so much for giving me that
mirror that changes anybody into somebody. It worked. Thank you. Thank you.” “Oh that
old thing,” the old man said. “That was just a regular old mirror I found in the junkyard. I didn’t
put any magic spells on it.” “What?” the young woman was shocked. The old man smiled and
laughed, “You see sweetheart, you were always somebody. You were never just anybody. It just took yourself
noticing yourself being a somebody. I guess the mirror let you see yourself as you really are. A beautiful somebody.
Always was and always will be. No matter how many somethings you get or do, you will always be a fantastic somebody.”
And the young woman who used to be a little girl just looked at him and said “Thank you.”
